Why Do Some Squash Courts Have Glass Walls?
Glass walls allow spectators to watch from outside the court, which makes squash easier to broadcast and watch live.
Traditional squash courts had solid walls, which meant spectators could only watch from a gallery above the back wall or some times around the front and side wall. All-glass show courts, which became common from the 1980s onwards, allow audiences to surround the court and see the action from every angle. Portable all-glass courts are now used for professional tournaments in unusual locations such as museums, squares, and stadium centres.
